There are many precautions and health and safety rules that you need to abide by to create a music video in a safe and efficant way.

Blog 11. Storyboard and Animatic.

This is the first page of the storyboard. We wanted to give an overview of what sort of thing we wanted to do and what kind of shots we were going to use. We used a variety of different viewpoints and interesting angles to involve the audience and to link our music video to the kind of music videos other artists in the pop R'N'B industry do.

For shot one we wanted to let the audience know what was happening from the very beginning although giving some mystery as to what she wants to see the person about. this would be an extreme close up so that the audience can see the writing on the phone.

The shots are mixed into three different sections, one section in a dance studio for the dance routine, the present day, which is the shot including the artist being introduced and the past where we see the two people arguing showing the audience what they used to be like letting the audience get to know them in a way so that there is more emotional response.

For shot 9 we wanted to use a female gaze to let the audience see the male from her perspective and the same with the 10th shot from a males perspective, this is using the Mulvey theory of the male gaze. We are then shown clips of the past when they are arguing and upset so that the mood is set and the audience know how they are feeling.

Blog 9. Pitch.

We were asked to create a powerpoint presentation to show the ideas we have come up with for our music video and how these things will appeal to the audience. We found research on our artists background, which is an important element to her solo career as fans of 'Danity Kane' her former band will follow her in her solo career. We wanted to do this to get an idea of what sort of people including age groups and gender so that we can make our music video appeal to that sort of audience.
We compared other artists music videos with our chosen artist's older music and wanted to know the sort of theme that we would use to attract a specific audience by comparing and contrasting different videos to the genre of music we are doing.
